Ireland: Privacy Protection

The European Parliament, the Council and the European Commission agreed a joint roadmap to complete and deepen the EU single market by the end of 2027. The roadmap sets out a programme of legislative and policy initiatives. It is structured around five strategic priorities, including digital infrastructure and connectivity as a core pillar, with measures to simplify regulation, remove barriers to cross-border provision and accelerate digital and AI transformation.

The European Commission adopted the Middle East Crisis Temporary State Aid Framework to support the EU economy in light of the Middle East crisis. The framework enables Member States to provide targeted support to sectors most affected by increased input and energy costs, particularly agriculture, fisheries and transport.

The European Data Protection Board has released a draft template for Data Protection Impact Assessments, marking a significant step toward harmonizing GDPR compliance across the EU.
