As part of its ongoing commitment to broaden awareness and provide educational opportunities to members of the firm, Groom's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee welcomed Melissa Kubit Angelides, Associate Director of Student Services and Adjunct Professor at St. John's University, to present to the firm her experiences as a hearing-impaired lawyer navigating law school and the legal profession. Highlighting the American's with Disabilities Act, the workshop discussed creating an inclusive environment for people with hearing impairments and other disabilities, how to establish best practices, and ways individuals can be allies.
