Hidroelektrik santraller (HES), fosil yakıtlara kıyasla işletme maliyetlerinin düşüklüğü, uzun işletme ömürleri, yüksek verimlilik oranları ve atmosferik emisyon üretmeyen temiz yapılarıyla Türkiye'nin yenilenebilir enerji stratejisinde merkezi bir rol oynamaktadır.
