Slovak News - Oct 96 - Law On Trade Marks

Slovakia
Fundamental changes in the amendment include the following:

  • an enforcement of the position of a trade mark owner, for example by means of guaranteeing the rights of the owner to receive prompt information on the origin of products that use his trade mark,
  • a simplification of listing in the register of trade marks,
  • a more strict consideration of misleading trade marks.

The amendment is to be discussed at the October meeting of the National Council of the SR and the adoption is to replace the law No. 174/1988 Coll. on trade marks.
