Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Lloyd Pierre-Louis has joined the firm's Columbus office as a Member.

Mr. Pierre-Louis focuses his practice on clients in the medical marijuana and hemp industries, including licensed entities, and those providing capital, equipment devices and other services to the industries. He represents entities and individuals – including cultivators, processors, dispensaries, prospective purchasers and acquisition targets – through every aspect of licensure, operations, regulatory compliance, employment matters and non-routine transactions. Mr. Pierre-Louis' practice includes government affairs, regulatory compliance and civil litigation, advocating for clients before legislative bodies and executive agencies. Mr. Pierre-Louis has lobbied in areas that include medical marijuana, general commercial activity, local government and domestic matters, affordable housing, and healthcare. In addition to his years in private practice, Mr. Pierre-Louis was appointed chief legal counsel by the Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and as a Court of Claims Commissioner by the Ohio Supreme Court.

Mr. Pierre-Louis is a member of the International Cannabis Bar Association, Ohio Lobbying Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association. He has authored articles, presented to trade groups and has been interviewed regarding ongoing issues within the cannabis industry and regarding the impact certain government activities will have on businesses. He is a board member of The Wellington School, recently completed terms on the Capitol Square Foundation and the African-American Leadership Academy advisory board, and is a 2016 Leadership Columbus Fellow. Mr. Pierre-Louis received his B.A. from Clark University and his J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
