JSA Advocates & Solicitors advised PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited ("PepsiCo") in relation to the execution of the revised Exclusive Bottling Appointment and Trademark Licence Agreement with Varun Beverages Limited ("VBL") ("EBA") and other related agreements. Pursuant to this, among other things, the bottling rights and license to use PepsiCo's trademarks granted for a substantial part of the territory of India to VBL has been extended by 10 years and will be valid till April 30, 2049. Further, the restrictions requiring VBL to operate solely for PepsiCo's business have now been removed.
VBL is PepsiCo's anchor bottler in India and one of PepsiCo's largest bottling partners outside the United States.
