The MiCA Rule – Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) is the European legal framework governing the crypto-assets market within the European Union. MiCA applies to individuals, legal entities, and other undertakings involved in the issuance, public offering, admission to trading of crypto-assets, or the provision of crypto-related services within the EU.

Italy's competition authority has closed its investigation into DeepSeek's AI chatbot by accepting commitments to improve transparency around AI-generated content accuracy. The case centers on whether generic warnings about AI limitations adequately protect consumers from relying on potentially false or misleading information produced by large language models.

The European Commission's Digital Omnibus Package proposes significant amendments to the AI Act, introducing targeted simplification measures for high-risk AI systems, extending regulatory relief to small-to-medium companies, and clarifying the interaction between AI regulation and existing EU legislation. The European Parliament has already published proposed amendments, with final adoption expected by the end of 2026 and gradual implementation beginning in 2027.
