John F. Tocci presented at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce's (CCCC) Wage & Hour and Seasonal Immigration Compliance seminar on May 5. The seminar brought together attorneys and members of the U.S. Department of Labor to discuss recent dramatic changes in immigration and employment-related laws. This included standards and practices affecting how hospitality industry and seasonal businesses in Massachusetts engage and pay employees. John was joined by Thomas Carroll, Community Outreach & Resource Planning Coordinator of the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division, and Matthew Lee, Partner of Lee & Novi.

John is an employment lawyer and litigator who counsels employers on a full range of workplace matters, including hiring, retention and discharge; audits; and compliance with state and federal employment laws. He also drafts and negotiates employment agreements, HR documents, and personnel policies; advises on internal investigations; and represents businesses and individuals in employment, contract, and other disputes in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and arbitration.

The mission of the CCCC is to strengthen, support and promote the economic viability, cultural richness, environmental sensitivity and social needs of Cape Cod. They are a catalyst and advocate for a vibrant economic community for a better Cape Cod. As the Regional Tourism Council and Convention and Visitors' Bureau for the area, the CCCC works closely with the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism to create a sustainable year-round economy and drive visitors to the region. The CCCC is a private, not-for-profit entity governed by a board of directors elected by its 1,300 member organizations.
