Energy transition is not just reshaping markets – it is redefining disputes.

From renewable mega-projects to rapidly evolving regulatory frameworks, pressure on dispute resolution mechanisms is growing. The key question: Can arbitration keep up?

On 29 March, ASA – Swiss Arbitration Association meets Vienna on the occasion of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, hosting a Practitioners Seminar that brings together leading experts and policy makers to explore how the energy transition is impacting the legal landscape and dispute resolution.

The discussion will focus on what is happening in practice: emerging dispute patterns, practical challenges in energy projects, and how arbitration can adapt to remain a trusted and effective forum. Featuring Małgorzata Surdek-Janicka (SURDEK Arbitration), Dr. Pascal Hachem (Bär & Karrer), Arias Lim Jie (K&L Gates), Smaranda Miron (Energy Community), and Alexander Slana (KELAG), moderated by Florian Haugeneder (KNOETZL), with opening remarks by Flavio Peter (Peter & Kim).

Secure your spot here: Link and expect thoughtful insights, candid exchanges, and a forward-looking conversation on where arbitration is heading in the energy space.
