The event was attended by Nurai Alisher and Saniya Perzadayeva, controbuting our firm's engagement with the UK professional and institutional landscape.

In 2025, the British-Kazakh Society officially registered 144 companies and delivered 30+ roundtables and webinars, demonstrating tangible growth across business, academia, and policy dialogue.

We were honoured to be joined by distinguished guests, including Sally Axworthy MBE, Rupert Goodman OBE DL, Lord Brennan KC, Rashid Gaissin, Joanna Kuenssberg, and Kamila Zhailaubayeva.

During the evening, Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, highlighted that the country currently hosts over 35,000 international students. As global higher education evolves beyond the traditional "Big 4" destinations towards a broader "Big 14", Kazakhstan is emerging as a new academic hub, with a national target to attract 100,000 international students within the next three years.

The Minister was formally appointed a Fellow of the British-Kazakh Society, in recognition of his contribution to the Society's development. In his remarks, he also announced that University of Oxford will establish a research institute in Kazakhstan as part of the new Oxford Hub in Astana the University's first research centre of this kind in the country operating in cooperation with 32 Oxford colleges and nearly 100 university institutes, with a focus on education, research, consulting, and academic exchange.

We extend our congratulations to Nicholas Pomeroy on his appointment as Director of the British-Kazakh Society and look forward to the Society's continued development under his leadership.
