"Commercial Courts Are Coming to Germany" was the motto of the in-person workshop on 27 March 2025 at Handelskammer Hamburg, where partner Florian Haugeneder represented the Austrian perspective.

Organized by Rechtsstandort Hamburg e.V., the Department of Justice Hamburg (Justizbehörde Hamburg), the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court (Hanseatisches Oberlandesgericht), and the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce (Handelskammer Hamburg), the event brought together over 25 senior judges from Germany's new Commercial Courts and leading international legal experts. Discussions focused on procedural standards, efficiency, and international best practices, with an emphasis on how to position German Commercial Courts for foreign litigants and their expectations.

The discussion was moderated by Reinmar Wolff (DIS), Frank Bodendiek (OLG Hamburg), and Richard Happ (Luther). The key takeaway was that the cross-border dialogue helped to shape a commercial court system that is both fair and attractive to foreign businesses.
