Throwback to the event of the year – International Bar Association Annual Conference in Mexico City – and more to come:
Natascha Tunkel joined an engaging panel discussion on navigating "Shareholder Dispute: Mediation, Litigation or Hybrid Strategy". Together with Dr Mahmood Hussain, Joanne Lau, Andrea Orta under the moderation of Stavros Pavlou, FCIArb, Bsc (Econ), Barrister, TEP (Litigation Committee) and Hermann Knott (Mediation Committee), she examined the different approaches and strategies, highlighting the advantages and disadvantages.
The key topics included:
- Strategic considerations, analyzing when and which approach offers the best path to effective resolution
- Combining methods, discussing how and when mediation and litigation process can be merged to resolve the complexities
- Efficiency and practicality of the hybrid approach
Diversity and the rule of law have been in our focus, as well: Together with M. Christie (Chris) Helmer of Miller Nash Graham & Dunn, co-chair of the Litigation Committee, Sam Hosseini of Stikeman Elliott LLP, Diversity and Equality Officer of the Litigation Committee, and Justice Liam Kennedy of Irish High Court, past co-chair, Bettina Knoetzl had the honor to welcome esteemed guests at the annual Women Litigators Breakfast, which continues to be a must-attend gathering for litigators who champion diversity. This year, the attendees touched upon the importance of the judicial independence: views across the globe and sparked very active debates.
Many thanks to everyone who joined and contributed to the discussions!
