Federal Register: FINRA Proposes Extending Expiration Date For Application Of Rules To Security-Based Swaps

A FINRA proposal to extend the expiration date of
FINRA Rule 0180 ("Application of Rules to Security-Based
Swaps") to September 1, 2021 was published in the Federal Register. Comments on
the proposal are due by February 19, 2020.
As
previously covered, this rule maintains the status quo,
limiting the application of FINRA rules to security-based swaps.
FINRA filed the proposed extension for immediate effectiveness. The
exemption was
previously set to expire on February 12, 2020.
