Finland Intellectual Property
Finland's first copyright legislation was the Printing Decree of 1829, according to which producers and translators had a lifetime, and their perils a 25 year protection period during which they had an exclusive right to publish and sell the protected work. The current Finnish Copyright Act came into force in 1961 though several amendments have been made to the Act since then.

Today's copyright issue is the expansion of the Internet. Finland has not yet made any amendments to copyright legislation, but one can expect amendments in the future.
