NEW YORK (September 1, 2026) – AlixPartners, the global consulting firm, announced today that Kathleen Sweeney has joined the firm's Investigations, Disputes & Advisory Services practice. Kathleen brings deep expertise and experience advising on complex accounting, financial reporting, regulatory enforcement, and investigative matters, and is based in AlixPartners’ Chicago office.
Most recently, Kathleen served as a Senior Accountant in the SEC's Division of Enforcement, where she was a trusted advisor on investigations involving financial reporting and accounting fraud, disclosure violations, internal control violations, PCAOB audit failures, market manipulation, and offering frauds.
Before joining the SEC, Kathleen held senior roles at global consulting firms, where she advised companies, boards, audit committees, and outside counsel on internal investigations, financial reporting and accounting issues, compliance matters, and corporate governance concerns. This blend of regulatory and client-service experience allows her to bring a practical, solution-oriented perspective to organizations confronting significant business and legal challenges.
