
Victoria interim state nomination 2025 has been announced. Victoria has 200 Skilled Nominated 190 places and 180 Skilled Work Regional 491 places. Today, the Australian Government announced that the overall permanent migration program will remain at the same 185,000 places as the previous year.
An interim allocation for state nomination for Victoria has been released today providing for 200 places for Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) and 180 places for Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)(subclass 491) visa.
The Skilled Nominated (subclass 190) provide a pathway to permanent residency for skilled applicants. Applicants can remain in Australia permanently after visa grant.
The Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)(subclass 491) visa allows applicants to temporarily stay in Australia for up to 5 years. A pathway to permanent residency can be accessed after visa holders have remained in a regional area holding the visa after three years.
Both visa streams require an invitation letter to be issued by the Department to make an application for the visa subclass from a successful Expression of Interest application with Skillselect. Additional visa requirements including holding a valid skills assessment, health and character.
Please note that any applicants that have an active Registration of Interest with Live In Melbourne, this will remain valid for the interim allocation.
