Last week, RPJ’s Nafsika Karavida delivered a presentation before the International Section of the Swedish Bar Association in New York City. The event featured a series of independent presentations by leading legal professionals, including Gonzalo Zeballos, Partner and Head of BakerHostetler’s International Litigation team; Carlos Ramos-Mrosovsky, Chair of the NYSBA’s International Section; and Dr. Efraim Chalamish, Professor of Law at New York University.
Ms. Karavida spoke on current trends in U.S. federal and state labor law, emphasizing the growing divergence between federal, state, and local employment regulations. She discussed the Trump administration’s shift toward reducing regulatory burdens on employers and limiting DEIA policies—changes with wide-ranging implications for federal agencies, contractors, and the private sector alike.
Her presentation also addressed the rescission of longstanding Civil Rights-era executive orders, the introduction of the Executive Order “Ending Illegal Discrimination and Restoring Merit-Based Opportunity,” and the administration’s recent scrutiny of major U.S. law firms.
Congratulations to Ms. Karavida on this prestigious invitation and powerful presentation!
