McKillop, Partner and Chair of the firm's Cannabis Law practice group, will be recognized by the Patriots' Path Council of Scouting America at the 2025 Legal Services Awards Reception, which will be held on Wednesday, April 30th.
Dan will be the recipient of a 2025 Good Scout Award in recognition of his dedicated service to the community and his commitment to upholding the values of leadership, integrity, and ethical responsibility. His extensive work in environmental law, as well as his leadership in cannabis law and regulatory compliance, has made a meaningful impact on both his clients and the broader legal community.
The not-for-profit Patriots' Path Council is dedicated to preparing young people to make ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of good character, citizenship and personal fitness. The Council serves more than 12,500 youth members and more than 5,000 volunteer leaders in the New Jersey counties of Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, and Union.

Dan has twenty years of experience in all aspects of environmental law and litigation. Dan's experience in the environmental field includes representation of corporate and individual clients in complex environmental litigations and regulatory proceedings before state and federal courts and environmental agencies arising under numerous state and federal statutes. In addition, Dan has served as chair of the firm's Cannabis practice group since 2016. In this aspect of his practice, Dan leads a team of attorneys from our various practice areas who assist clients seeking medical or adult-use cannabis licenses and provide counsel regarding current and proposed federal and state medical and adult-use cannabis laws and regulations.
