Attorney Christina Cress will co-moderate a highly anticipated panel discussion at the second annual Ethics and Commission Practice Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program.

Hosted by the Utilities Law Specialization Committee of the North Carolina State Bar, the event is scheduled for January 30, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the NC State Bar Building in Raleigh.

The panel discussion will feature insights from North Carolina Utilities Commission (NCUC) Commissioners Karen Kemerait, William Brawley, and Tommy Tucker. Christina will share moderating duties with Andrea Kells, the 2025 Chair of the Utilities Law Specialization Committee. Together, they will guide a conversation aimed at providing attendees with critical ethical and practical insights into commission practice.

A member of the 2025 Utilities Law Specialization Committee and the immediate past Committee Chair, Christina also leads Ward and Smith's Energy and Utilities Practice Group. Her extensive experience includes advising on electric and water utility issues and navigating the implementation of regulatory frameworks for innovative energy programs in North Carolina, such as those established under House Bill 589, the "Competitive Energy Solutions for NC."

Following the CLE, attendees are invited to an optional social gathering at The Willard Rooftop Lounge, located at 9 Glenwood Avenue. This informal networking event will allow Committee members and other utilities law specialists to connect in a relaxed setting. This social event will be self-pay for all attendees.
