A&M alumna Dina Hernandez returns to the firm in newly created role to lead talent management and acquisition strategy
NEW YORK, August 15, 2024 – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has appointed Dina Hernandez as Managing Director and the first Chief People Officer (CPO) for its Global Transaction Advisory Group (Global TAG) and Corporate Transactions Group (CTG). In the newly established role, Ms. Hernandez, an alumna of A&M, will lead Global TAG and CTG’s talent management and acquisition strategy, with oversight for its inclusive diversity and internal initiatives.
The CPO role will execute on the firm’s longstanding commitment to its people. Ms. Hernandez will work to optimize the talent experience for A&M’s transactions businesses, along with ensuring consistency across the firm’s global platform. She takes on the role during a significant period of growth, as Global TAG continues to scale and CTG marks its territory in the corporate transactions marketplace.
Paul Aversano, Managing Director and member of A&M’s Executive Team, who leads Global TAG and maintains firm oversight of CTG, said, “At the foundation, establishing this CPO role is emblematic of our commitment to what sets A&M apart: our people and culture. In day-to-day practice, Dina will be close to our talent – both current and future – ensuring that in parallel with our momentous growth and continued ambition in the market for both Global TAG and CTG, we foster what truly gives us our edge: cultural strength. Dina’s track record of prioritizing people while driving organizational change makes her the person for this critical role. I’m thrilled to welcome her back to A&M to be our sharp cultural eye.”
A leader with over two decades of in-field Human Resources (HR) focus, Ms. Hernandez most recently served as Chief People and Corporate Services Officer at Qualus, where she notably managed domestic and international acquisitions doubling the size of the workforce. Prior to this role, she was the Chief Human Resources Officer at ELM Home & Building Solutions, where she established the talent management function and scaled the business significantly over a period of 24 months.
“Dina’s joining will take A&M’s integrated platform competitive advantage to the next level,” said Preston Parker, Managing Director and CTG’s US Practice Leader. “Capitalizing on HR to fuel growth furthers our ability to service corporates from diligence through value creation and realization. Dina will be invaluable to our HR and business strategy integration efforts in support of driving change for clients.”
In her prior tenure with A&M, Ms. Hernandez served as the firm’s Global Director of Human Resources for a decade, where she oversaw global human resources management across all business units.
Ms. Hernandez noted, “HR has the power to transform challenges into opportunities. A&M’s expanding capabilities and geographic footprint signals an inflection point demanding a consistent, global talent strategy. The ability to deliver effective talent management is directly linked to the employee experience and A&M’s ability to rapidly allocate talent around the world.”
