  • A COVID-19 test will no longer be required for fully vaccinated or COVID-19 recovered travelers entering Ireland

Overview

As of 6 Jan. 2022, the government of Ireland no longer requires pre-departure tests for fully vaccinated or COVID-19 recovered travelers entering the country. Fully vaccinated or COVID-19 recovered travelers will now be required to present evidence of a valid Digital COVID-19 Certificate (DCC) or other acceptable proof of vaccination prior to travel.

Unvaccinated travelers will be required to present evidence of a negative RT-PCR test result carried out no more than 72 hours before arrival in Ireland. Any traveler who develops COVID-19 symptoms following arrival in Ireland will be required to follow government guidance including undergoing self-isolation and taking an antigen or RT-PCR test.

What are the Changes?

The government of Ireland has updated its entrance requirements and will no longer require fully vaccinated travelers or COVID-19 recovered travelers to supply a negative COVID-19 test result taken prior to arrival.
