Together with a number of procedural changes, as of 29 March 2016, the Australian Designs Office will no longer issue a separate six digit number upon registration of a design. In a similar way to patents, the registration number will now align with the nine digit application number. Applications registered prior to 29 March 2016, will still have both numbers attributed to them.
