The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that workplace deaths in Louisiana dropped nearly 26 percent in 2010. There were 104 workplace fatalities, a drop of 36 deaths from 2009.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that workplace deaths in Louisiana dropped nearly 26 percent in 2010. There were 104 workplace fatalities, a drop of 36 deaths from 2009. Of the 104 deaths, eleven were caused by the Deepwater Horizon explosion, which resulted in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Highway fatalities resulted in the most job-related deaths.
