Texas Lawyer profiled Haynes and Boone, LLP for its strong revenue and profits and thriving practices in 2021, a year that Managing Partner Taylor Wilson described as "extraordinary."

The article noted that some of Haynes Boone's busy practices included finance, real estate, investment management, capital markets, M&A, intellectual property, energy and litigation in 2021.

Below is an excerpt:

Revenue at Haynes and Boone improved by 12%, while profits per equity partner (PEP) grew by 16.2% as strong demand across practices and head count growth boosted 2021 results.

"It was an extraordinary year for us by any measure," managing partner Taylor Wilson said, noting that the fourth quarter was especially strong.

"We saw strong client demand for our services across multiple departments and offices. It was broad-based. It was a broad effort by our attorneys," he said.

Wilson said the finance, real estate and investment management practices were very busy, and the capital markets, M&A and intellectual property practices also benefited from increased demand. The year also "brought a strong resurgence" for litigation, particularly energy litigation. And, he said, the energy practice had "another great year" with particular strength in renewables and power, and work related to rising commodity prices.
