Mark received a distinction in his Master's Degree and achieved the best overall result at Masters' level in the entire Law School. His dissertation focussed on Manx law and was titled "Should the Isle of Man reform its current insolvency regime to introduce a rescue culture?"

The Master's Degree was funded by Appleby and Mark studied part-time for two years whilst working full-time for Appleby.

Mark commented: "I'm extremely grateful to Appleby for supporting me with my Master's Degree and for continually investing in my personal development since I joined the firm in 2010."

Mark, who has recently been promoted to Senior Associate within the Dispute Resolution department, joined Appleby as a trainee in September 2010. He qualified in November 2012 as a Manx Advocate, and regularly appears at all levels of the Isle of Man High Court of Justice and practices a broad range of commercial litigation.

Mark Holligon, Partner and Group Head of the Dispute Resolution department in the Isle of Man, added: "Completing a Master's Degree whilst working full-time in a leading offshore firm is an impressive feat. Many congratulations to Mark on this fantastic achievement."

"As a leading offshore law firm we are committed to developing our talent and ensuring the practice area is best equipped to provide the finest service to our clients."
