Appleby is pleased to announce that it has acted as Cayman Islands, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey legal counsel to Wittington Investments, Limited on its acquisition of The Boots Group, a pharmacy and health and beauty retailer in the UK and Ireland

Appleby, alongside instructing counsel Skadden, is advising Wittington Investments, Limited, the holding company of the Canada-based Weston family, on its agreement with Sycamore Partners and the Pessina family to acquire The Boots Group.

The total purchase price is USD 8.9 billion, including assumed debt. The transaction, which is subject to certain regulatory approvals and the satisfaction of customary closing conditions, is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
