We are delighted to announce that Managing Partner of Torys’ Montréal office Sylvie Rodrigue, Ad. E. has been named among Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 by Women’s Executive Network (WXN).
This marks the third time Sylvie has received this recognition, having previously been honoured by WXN in 2016 and 2019. The award celebrates women whose leadership, influence and achievements drive meaningful change and help shape the next generation.
A leading litigator, Sylvie is widely recognized for her ability to navigate high-stakes disputes across jurisdictions and industries. She has built a national reputation for her work in class actions, product liability and commercial litigation, and is among the few litigators in Canada who regularly defends complex matters in both Québec and common law provinces. Her broad experience, strategic counsel and commitment to client success have made her a trusted advisor in some of the country’s most significant disputes.
In addition to leading Torys’ Montréal office, Sylvie chairs the firm’s national Class Actions and Product Liability practices. She has also made significant contributions to the legal profession throughout her career. She is the founder and past chair of the Class Action Section of the Ontario Bar Association, chair of the Canadian Bar Association National Task Force on Class Actions, and serves in leadership roles with numerous legal and community organizations in Canada and internationally. Through her advocacy, mentorship and professional leadership, she has helped advance the development of class actions law and support the next generation of legal professionals. In 2025, she published Own It! Lessons Every Woman Should Know, which shares insights drawn from her personal and professional journey. A French-language edition is scheduled for release in fall 2026.
Sylvie’s distinguished career has earned widespread recognition from leading legal directories and industry organizations, such as Chambers, Benchmark Litigation, and Best Lawyers in Canada. She was awarded the distinction of Advocatus Emeritus by the Québec Bar and received the Ontario Bar Association’s Award of Excellence in Class Actions. She has also been named Canadian Product Liability Attorney of the Year by LMG Life Sciences, Product Liability Litigator of the Year by Benchmark Litigation and Litigator of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards.
