A conference that brought insight, integrity, and innovation together — now featured in Bizweek's special edition.
The 7th Annual Comsure Financial Crime Conference 2025 was a resounding success — bringing together regulators, industry leaders, and compliance professionals for two days of impactful discussions, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.
Organised by Comsure in partnership with The Axis Academy, the conference reaffirmed Mauritius's commitment to strengthening governance, transparency, and the fight against financial crime across the financial services sector.
The event's success has been featured in Bizweek's latest special edition 📰 — highlighting expert insights, keynote sessions, and reflections on how Mauritius continues to advance its compliance and regulatory framework.
In his opening address, Attorney General Gavin Glover SC stated that "courage in government and integrity in finance are two sides of the same coin." He cautioned that "the criminal mind is inventive," and that "technology multiplies its speed and scale," as funds can "vanish at the click of a button." His words set a determined tone: Mauritius, he said, "will no longer play catch-up" but will instead "steer the course" through transparency, institutional independence, and cross-border cooperation.
Director of Public Prosecutions Rashid Ahmine followed with an unflinching assessment of Mauritius's fight against financial crime, underscoring that legislation and compliance frameworks mean little without independence, ethics, and coordination. "We are all in this," he said. "We have to sit down and work together."
