Foley Hoag Partner and Co-Chair of the firm's Public
Companies and Capital Markets practices Stacie Aarestad spoke with
Bloomberg Law about the IPO market amid the government shutdown,
including recent guidance from the SEC to provide a more
flexible path for IPOs while the agency is not fully
operational.
"The new guidance is just trying to incrementally help
companies that are in the pipeline. Companies will continue to
think of ways they can position themselves, wherever they are in
their timelines, to make sure they can take advantage. The shutdown
puts a fine point on the fact that externalities can impact the
deal in ways that no one can control," Aarestad said.
