Dallas, Tex. (October 8, 2025) - Dallas Partners Susan Briones and Nichol Bunn, along with Dallas Associate Elizabeth Hill, recently obtained a dismissal of a medical malpractice case against a long-term care facility in Llano County, Texas.
The crux of the case hinged on the timing of the decedent's death and EMT personnel stating that the body's rigor mortis indicated that death had occurred much earlier than reported. However, Susan, Nichol, and Elizabeth argued that the onset of rigor mortis was affected by the decedent's underlying medical condition and the expert's report failed to address the alternative causation.
