Cowan, Liebowitz & Latman (CLL) attorneys Joelle Milov, Raphael Nemes, and Dasha Chestukhin have been recognized in Managing Intellectual Property's 2025 "RISING IP STARS" rankings.

Joelle represents clients in all aspects of securing and defending intellectual property rights. She assists clients in prosecuting and enforcing their trademarks domestically and internationally. She also has extensive experience in intellectual property litigations in federal courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as domain name disputes brought by UDRP. Additionally, Joelle has significant experience in litigating cases in New York State Courts and has represented clients and served as local counsel in general commercial cases in these venues. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including those in the music, food, financial services, consumer products, and professional sports industries.

Rafi's practice encompasses a wide range of intellectual property matters, including trademark litigation, enforcement, prosecution, and contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board. A significant portion of his practice focuses on helping intellectual property owners protect their rights in cyberspace—in the US and worldwide—against infringing, impersonating, fraudulent, and phishing domain names, websites, social media platforms, apps, and emails. Rafi has substantial experience in analyzing and determining appropriate strategies for clients against online infringements, impersonations and scams, and has represented clients in connection with hundreds of Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) proceedings.

Dasha's practice encompasses a broad range of intellectual property matters, including trademarks, copyrights, domain names, unfair competition and patents. Dasha regularly litigates disputes in federal and state courts, and has extensive experience with contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and with UDRP domain name dispute proceedings before the World Intellectual Property Organization. At the same time, she is skilled at resolving disputes in creative and cooperative ways, both within and outside the context of legal proceedings. In addition to handling adversarial matters, Dasha also advises clients on the clearance, prosecution, registration, management and enforcement of trademarks and domain names. Her litigation background also allows her to counsel her clients with a view to avoiding unnecessary controversies while protecting valuable rights.

Managing IP describes its methodology as follows:

Each year, Managing IP's research analysts in London, New York and Hong Kong obtain information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients through interviews, emails and online surveys. Before compiling the rankings, our research analysts also conduct their own independent research, including an analysis of publicly available information (such as court or IP office data) and the existing data we hold on firms. All our rankings are based on the information available at the time the research was completed. Except for firm name changes, any subsequent developments or information that can influence our ranking decisions will be considered during the research for the next edition. However, Managing IP reserves the right to remove a firm or individual from our website at any time. The research is conducted rigorously and impartially. There is no fee to pay to participate in the research. More information about its methodology is available here.
