The Asia Private Investment Funds and Secondaries team at Goodwin has successfully advised its long-standing client, LGT Capital Partners, as co-lead investor on its investment in the $500 million multi-asset continuation vehicles managed by IDG Capital.
The multi-asset continuation vehicles comprise a diversified portfolio of 13 assets from onshore and offshore selling vehicles, with the expectation to offer long term value. The innovative transaction structure provided liquidity to selling vehicles under liquidation while supporting continued value creation across the portfolio.
LGT Capital Partners, a leading global specialist in alternative investing with over US$100 billion in assets under management, has been investing in the secondaries market for over 20 years with more than 450 transactions completed to date.
IDG Capital is a world-leading private equity investment institution that has been developing venture capital business as a pioneer in China since 1993.
The Goodwin team was led by partner Gregory Barclay, with support from counsel Dominic Wong and associates Andrew Mon and Jenny Zhi. The team also recently advised LGT Capital Partners as lead investor on its investment in a continuation vehicle managed by Armitage Associates.
