At the 8th edition of the Advocatus Summit, SRS Legal Partner Gonçalo Anastácio explained that
competition law, consumer law and the macro-structure relating to
litigation in these areas derive ‘to a large extent’
from European Union law. ‘There is an external influence
here, but it is a legal order that is also ours, that of European
Union law, and therefore it is an area that has been developing a
lot from a regulatory point of view in recent decades,’ he

Taking the example of the United Kingdom, SRS associate Manuel Rocha considers that they already had
some consumer protection legislation, but are now bringing the type
of prohibited practices closer to the list of prohibited practices
in the European Union, giving the example of fake reviews.
