(Stamford, CT)—Dickstein Shapiro LLP is pleased to announce that Corporate & Finance Practice Associate Marci C. Pereira has been named a "New Leader in the Law" by the Connecticut Law Tribune. The recognition honors the top 50 attorneys in Connecticut under the age of 40 whose legal work, pro bono efforts, and community involvement set them apart from their peers.

For the first time, the Connecticut Law Tribune recruited members of the legal community to rate their nominees. Each member of the five-judge panel reviewed dozens of entries and gave scores to each nominee in categories ranging from contributions to the law to bar association efforts, pro bono work, and peer recognition.

Ms. Pereira focuses her practice on a wide variety of corporate, financing, and other business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, entity formation, reorganizations, private equity and venture capital transactions, and general corporate matters. She provides representation to public and private companies, entrepreneurs, investors, and private equity and venture capital funds.

In addition to her commitment to pro bono work and community service, Ms. Pereira is an active member of the Connecticut Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

Last year, the Connecticut Law Tribune also recognized Ms. Pereira's Stamford-based colleagues Associate Seth Milligan and Partner Lindsay Sheehy with New Leader in the Law awards.

Dickstein Shapiro's Corporate & Finance Practice focuses on middle-market transactions—those with values in a range of $10 million to $500 million. The practice has substantial experience in many industries, including alcoholic beverage, biotechnology, consumer goods and services, energy, government contracting, higher education, industrial, information and technology, manufacturing, media and communications, and real estate.
