We are excited to announce that Aaron Macgregor, a student from Blackburn College, is the winner of our annual student essay competition.
Each year we choose a topical legal issue and invite students from schools around the country to write an essay. There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Aaron produced an excellent essay on the impacts of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace. He gave a critical evaluation of the potential positive and negative impacts of AI, taking an interesting historical perspective on this issue to help contextualise his argument. The essay used a clear structure and Aaron had clearly spent time researching the topic and identifying specific facts to support his arguments; he wins £250.
Hana Finnerty of Moulton School and Science College came a close second and received a £150 prize. Her essay demonstrated excellent commercial awareness, examining the impact of AI across a wide range of industry sectors.
Ada Butt of Blackburn College came third, with another strong essay, and wins £50.
