While visiting the Malta Pavilion at the Milan Expo, Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat stated that through its presence at the Expo, Malta wants to portray itself as a top tourism destination as well as an attractive business destination.

While visiting the Malta Pavilion at the Milan Expo, Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat stated that through its presence at the Expo, Malta wants to portray itself as a top tourism destination as well as an attractive business destination.

Although Malta is the smallest EU member state, it is also experiencing the greatest economic growth within the EU and this puts the island in a prominent position at the forefront, not only on the European but also on the international scale. Malta's economic growth also enhances the high quality product that the island is looking to promote in terms of being a forward-looking country with a highly-able workforce and a truly unique identity.

The Prime Minister was accompanied to Milan by a delegation of representatives from Trade Malta and Malta Enterprise. Dr Muscat also stated that the Maltese government is intent on further developing Malta's strongest sectors whilst expanding other sectors where Malta holds immense potential to build relationships with investors.
