Malta Finance and Banking

On 21 March, PwC in collaboration with FinanceMalta launched a business confidence survey covering the regulated financial services sector in Malta. The survey has been targeted at a number of organisations operating within the banking, insurance and investment services sectors. It is our intention to collect responses by around the second week of April.

The survey will be held on a semi-annual basis to enable stakeholders to gauge trends and industry developments over time.

The survey is anonymous and all results from the survey will be aggregated at a sector level.  The survey questionnaire comprises two parts.

Part I includes a core set of questions to assess industry confidence.  Responses to these questions are not quantitative and aim to gauge current business activity in comparison to the past few months and expectations going forward.    The areas probed include the business performance, employment and training, marketing and capital expenditure, and business prospects.  By repeating these questions from one survey to the next, we will be able to start building a time series of business confidence trends within the sector.

Part II includes a few ad hoc questions that address topical issues at the time of the survey.

The key results and observations from the survey will be published, and where appropriate PwC and Finance Malta will organise thematic seminars.

Finance Malta encourages the ongoing participation of those members identified for this survey.
