The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau ("CFPB") released the Consumer Response Annual Report. The Report covered consumer complaints reported to the agency in 2016. The CPPB found that debt collection, credit reporting and mortgages were the three most common causes of the complaints. Together, the three types resulted in 67 percent of all complaints received. The CFPB also reported that 97 percent of the companies provided "timely responses" to these complaints.
