A knowledge of beneficiaries' rights to information is vital for trustees. Historically the rights have been very extensive but these rules have not always been wholly adopted by the offshore jurisdictions.

The author concludes that this is a difficult area of law and that there are a number of differing approaches taken by the offshore jurisdictions which have enacted legislation on the matter.
