The new electronic application system (EPATS), introduced by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on 2 December 2019, was put into operation as of 3 December 2019. It is planned to make applications more systematic with some innovations that come with this new system. Another aim of the system will be to eliminate some of the deficiencies in the previous system. It is stated by the Turkish Patent experts that the old system is very lacking about the protection of personal data and this system is more reliable. The previous filing system will end by 2020.

There will also be some changes in the functioning of the Turkish Patent with this system, but since these changes are not yet clear, we do not provide information for now.

The application forms have also been modified with the system, but since these changes are still new, some revisions may come to them.
