ATLANTA (October 15) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that Whitney Deal was inducted into the prestigious Outstanding Atlanta Class of 2013 on Friday, October 11th at the Commerce Club.

Outstanding Atlanta (OA), originally known as The Outstanding Young People Of Atlanta organization, was created in 1968 to recognize outstanding young people of Atlanta for their contributions to the betterment of the city. Each year, 10 young leaders of Atlanta are selected as members of this prestigious organization in recognition of their business and civic accomplishments. Since the organization's inception a select group of Atlantans between the ages of 21 and 36 who live and work in the metropolitan Atlanta area and have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or community outreach have been selected as members of OA.

In 2004, Ms. Deal created the firm's award-winning community involvement initiative, "IMPACT," and is currently responsible for managing all aspects of the firm's corporate citizenship efforts which include the employee volunteer program, charitable contributions, board placement and training, diversity & inclusion and sustainability. She also spearheaded the firm's highly successful Booker T. Washington High School (BTW) Freedom Writers mentoring program, which began in 2006. The Freedom Writer students graduated with a remarkable 99% acceptance rate into college and with more than 330 scholarships worth over $8.5 million.
