Michael's practice draws onsignificant experienceat the intersection of international trade, regulatory matters, and complex commercial disputes. He advises clients on issues involving federal agencies, international trade, and high-stakes patent litigation.

Before joining Mintz, Michael served for more than a decade as a senior attorney-advisor at theUSInternational Trade Commission (ITC), where he advisedmultiplecommissioners onhundreds ofSection337 investigations involvinga broad range of technologies. Through that work, he engaged extensively with the core substantive issues that define Section 337 practice, includingpatent infringement, invalidity, domestic industry, importation, remedy, bonding,andthe public interest, as well as issues arising across the lifecycle of an investigation.Drawing onhisdeepinstitutional knowledge and strategic perspective on the Commission'sdecision-making process, he helps clients navigate ITC proceedings, assessenforcementand defense strategies, and advocate effectively in high-stakes disputes.

Prior to his government service,Michaelwas an associate in the patent litigation practice of a large firm, where herepresentedclients incomplexdisputes before federal district courts, the ITC, and theUSCourt of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.In that role, he developed litigation strategies, managed discovery, drafted substantive motions and briefs, prepared witnesses, and participated in courtroom proceedings, giving him practical litigation and case-management experience that complementedhis later work at the Commission.
