Taft partner Marcia L. Fudge was honored with the Edward W. Brooke and Walter F. Mondale Fair Housing Award at the National Fair Housing Alliance's (NFHA) National Conference. Presented by NFHA President and CEO Lisa Rice, the award is the organization's highest distinction, recognizing leaders who have made transformative contributions to civil rights, fair lending, and equitable housing opportunities.

Named for the bipartisan co-sponsors of the landmark Fair Housing Act of 1968, the award celebrates individuals who carry forward their legacy by advancing access to quality housing, credit, and insurance free from discrimination.

Fudge is a partner in Taft's Public Affairs Strategies Group and serves as the firmwide Chair of Public Policy. She brings more than five decades of experience collaborating with lawmakers, elected officials, senior staff, and coalitions across all levels of government. From 2021 to 2024, she served as the 18th Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), where she led major initiatives to expand housing supply, address homelessness, eliminate discriminatory practices in the housing market, and strengthen compliance with fair housing laws.
