RDJ advised some of Ireland’s best-known quick-service restaurant brands — Abrakebabra, O’Briens Café and Bagel Factory — on their acquisition by wholesaler BWG Group. The transaction marks BWG Group’s entry into the quick-service restaurant sector and further strengthens its position across the food-service market.

The acquired business operates 72 locations nationwide, including 47 O’Briens Café and Bagel Factory outlets, 17 Abrakebabra restaurants and eight Oasis of Taste food halls. BWG, the wholesale and retail business behind the Spar, Londis and Mace brands in Ireland, plans to expand the network by a further 25 locations by 2030, bringing the total to almost 100 nationwide.

The RDJ cross-practice team was led by Bryan McCarthy and included Leanne Connell and Ciara Hurley (Corporate and M&A); Elena Vassileva (IP); Mark Barrett and Mark Ludlow (Tax); Simon Lynch and Evan Collins (Real Estate); Jennifer Cashman, Antoinette Vahey and Isabelle Mannix (Employment); and Brian Quinn and Daisy Magahy (Banking and Finance).
