RDJ advised Galway-based engineering and project management consultancy firm TOBIN on its acquisition by AtkinsRéalis (TSX: ATRL), one of Canada’s largest construction companies with offices around the world.
Headquartered in Galway, TOBIN was founded in 1952 and employs approximately 200 people across five offices in Ireland. The firm provides engineering and project management design services across the building, water and transport sectors, with particular expertise in environmental and planning services. TOBIN has operated across both the private and public sectors in Ireland for over seven decades delivering large scale projects and programmes in a sustainable manner.
The acquisition will see AtkinsRéalis, which has operated in Ireland for over 25 years, increase its Irish workforce to more than 700 people. AtkinsRéalis currently employs over 500 staff across offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Dundalk.
The transaction is subject to approval from the CCPC and customary closing conditions.
