Germany

Gowling WLG has supported the Equality Fund, a Canada-based organisation dedicated to advancing gender equality worldwide, in connection with a funding agreement with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Under this agreement, the Equality Fund will receive funding of up to €18 million, subject to the terms of the agreement and the discretion of the funding authority.

The funding is intended to support women’s rights organisations globally and to contribute to gender equality, socio-economic resilience, and long-term sustainable development.

The Gowling WLG team (Melissa Bach, Neil McCormick, Ulrich Reers) advised the Equality Fund on the successful conclusion of the agreement as part of the firm’s pro bono commitment.
