Attorneys Joe Shumow and Joe Rekrut discussed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA or OB3) in their virtual presentation “OB3 – How the Trump Tax Act Impacts CRE” with the Commercial Association of REALTORS® Wisconsin (CARW) on October 30. In their presentation, Shumow and Rekrut reviewed the major components of the bill that impact commercial real estate developers, investors and property owners. This included information on low-income housing tax credits, energy and sustainability incentives, new markets tax credits and more.
Shumow is a shareholder and chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice, where he serves as a trusted adviser to a variety of tax credit, real estate and corporate clients, including developers, lenders and investors, governmental entities and family businesses. His tax credit practice is national in scope, with Reinhart having represented tax credit developers in more than 35 states. Shumow also represents clients in acquisition, development, leasing and entitlement of real estate transactions and provides business advice to nonprofit, government entities and corporate clients.
Rekrut is an attorney in Reinhart’s Tax Practice, where he provides counsel to mid-sized businesses, public charities, family foundations and high-net-worth individuals on tax controversy, planning and litigation matters, collaborating with clients to develop tax-efficient strategies that fully align with their goals.
