MILWAUKEE– Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that shareholders Ben Kurten and Heidi Thole have been elected as Fellows of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. Their selection recognizes their significant career accomplishments, leadership and community service, as well as their exceptional legal aptitude.
The Wisconsin Law Foundation honors State Bar members who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in their legal careers, and who have also demonstrated dedication to their communities through service and leadership. Membership in the Fellows is limited to 2.5 percent of the State Bar's total membership and is reserved for those who have been nominated by their peers and elected by the Fellows Board of Trustees.
Kurten is the chair of Reinhart's Immigration Law Group and a shareholder in the firm's Labor and Employment and International practices. He helps employers stay abreast of developments to ensure they remain in full compliance with the complex and constantly evolving immigration laws. Kurten advises large multinational corporations, small private companies and individual investors on transferring international personnel, hiring foreign-born talent with hard-to-find skill sets and establishing new investment enterprises or branch operations.
Thole is an intellectual property shareholder who leverages her passion for learning and research to find real-world solutions for clients. She works in branding and trademark issues such as analyzing risk around selecting, registering and using marks, negotiating solutions with competitors and litigating when necessary to protect her clients' interests. Thole is also a member of Reinhart's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Team and can advise clients on the technical and regulatory requirements, challenges and opportunities of AI technology. She advises across a variety of industries and geographies, from startups to global businesses in finance, banking, food and beverage production, machines/mechanical parts and more.
