MILWAUKEE– Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. (Reinhart) is pleased to announce that Shareholder Ben Kurten has been appointed to the executive board of Scouting America’s Three Harbors Council. Kurten began his Scouting journey as a child and reconnected with the organization when his two sons joined (who are both now Eagle Scouts), going on to serve in a wide range of leadership roles at the unit, district and council levels.
Formed in 2011 through the merger of the Milwaukee County Council and the Southeast Wisconsin Council, Three Harbors Council was created to unify the Scouting efforts within the counties of Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha, streamline resources and strengthen program delivery. Kurten and the Three Harbors Council help support the mission of Scouting America—To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Kurten is the chair of Reinhart’s Immigration Law Group and a shareholder in the firm’s Labor and Employment and International practices. He helps employers stay abreast of developments to ensure they remain in full compliance with the complex and constantly evolving immigration laws. Kurten advises large multinational corporations, small private companies and individual investors on transferring international personnel, hiring foreign-born talent with hard-to-find skill sets and establishing new investment enterprises or branch operations.
