Lewis Silkin today announces that Rose Carey has joined the firm as a partner in its immigration practice. She will be based across the firm’s Cardiff and London offices.
Rose advises a range of high-profile clients - including corporates, high net-worth individuals and celebrities, and families - on the full spectrum of immigration matters. Her practice spans business-critical immigration issues for international groups and SMEs, global talent and innovator visa strategies for tech founders, as well as complex private client work including appeals and judicial reviews.
Her experience includes working with tech start-ups, and sports and entertainment clients, and she is also regularly instructed on complex high net-worth immigration matters, including with Immigration Advice Authority registered firms seeking advice on challenging Tier 1 investor visa cases.
In addition, Rose is co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Immigration & Human Trafficking Committee, through which she regularly speaks at international conferences. She is a recognised thought leader in the sector, sitting on the LexisPSL editorial board, and has been ranked by Chambers & Partners (as Band 1 for high net worth immigration and Band 2 for personal and business immigration), The Legal 500, and Spear’s.
With Rose’s arrival, Lewis Silkin’s Immigration practice now comprises five partners and a team of more than 30 lawyers across London, Cardiff, Belfast and Dublin.
Andrew Osborne, Partner and Head of Immigration at Lewis Silkin, commented:
“Rose is a hugely respected figure in the immigration space, and her reputation in both corporate and high net-worth immigration is second to none. Her breadth of experience aligns perfectly with our strategic ambitions, and her knowledge in contentious immigration matters combined with strong U.S. connections will make her a fantastic addition to the team.”
Rose Carey, Partner at Lewis Silkin, commented:
“Lewis Silkin quite rightly has a brilliant reputation for client service, culture and technical excellence, and the Immigration team is well ranked across the board. I’ve known and worked with several members of the team over recent years, and this is a great opportunity to join such a supportive, entrepreneurial and forward-thinking firm. I’m particularly looking forward to building on our offering to international clients.”
